Becky Hill Brings Borde Hill Summer Series to Life
On Saturday 15th August 2026, we headed to Borde Hill for the second night of the brand-new Borde Hill Summer Series.
We arrived around 6pm, and whilst the venue was already busy, there was still plenty of space to find a great spot and, most importantly, dance. The crowd was a brilliant mix of families, younger people and older music fans, all brought together by a shared love of dance music. As the evening went on, more people arrived, particularly those keen to secure a good view for Becky Hill, but it never felt uncomfortably packed.
We started the evening with sets from High Contrast and Netsky, with Netsky being a particular highlight. His set immediately got the crowd moving and created the perfect atmosphere for what was to come.
In between sets, we grabbed some delicious hot dogs before sitting on the grass and doing a bit of people-watching while waiting for Jax Jones. There was something particularly enjoyable about being able to take a break, eat, chat and soak up the atmosphere without feeling like you had to stay glued to your spot.
When Jax Jones took to the stage, the energy noticeably lifted. ‘You Don’t Know Me’ was a particular crowd favourite, with the field suddenly erupting into singing and dancing. It was one of those moments where the size of the crowd really became apparent.
By the time Becky Hill appeared, the anticipation was impossible to miss. Becky brought an incredible amount of energy to the stage, backed by colourful visuals, dramatic lighting and screens filled with flames, nature, colourful cubes and constantly changing patterns. Her backing singers added even more energy to the performance, while Becky herself proved that her powerful vocals translate just as well to a live setting. She belted out the big notes throughout the set and never seemed to lose momentum.
For me, it was the older songs that really stole the show. While she performed newer material too, hearing ‘Back & Forth’ and ‘Afterglow’ live were definite highlights. There was something especially nostalgic about hearing some of her earlier hits surrounded by thousands of people who knew exactly when to sing along.
Becky also showed plenty of personality between songs. At one point, she hilariously asked one of the crew members to take off their belt for her, providing one of the more unexpected moments of the evening. She also spoke warmly about her younger self, her hopes and dreams and how unbelievable it was that she had ended up where she is now. One particularly humble story was about meeting her drummer and telling us she knew that one day he would be her drummer, which was a lovely reminder of just how far she has come.
But perhaps my favourite thing about the whole evening was simply being able to dance freely.
I went with a friend who I also work with, and we spend plenty of time at work laughing about and busting out dance moves together. There was something hilarious and brilliant about taking those same moves to a field full of thousands of people but this time being actively encouraged to do it.
Despite the huge crowd and the incredible energy, the spaciousness of the venue meant the evening never felt overwhelmingly packed. There was still room to move, dance and enjoy yourself, which made a huge difference. It felt more relaxed than a traditional concert while still delivering all the excitement and atmosphere you would expect from a major live show.
That is ultimately what makes Borde Hill such a great concert venue. The combination of beautiful Sussex countryside and a high-energy outdoor dancefloor is difficult to beat. You can spend the evening dancing with friends, sit on the grass with some food, watch the sunset and then find yourself surrounded by thousands of people singing along to one of the UK's biggest dance artists.
The Borde Hill Summer Series has created something that feels a little different from the usual concert experience. Becky Hill was the perfect headline act for it as she is energetic, charismatic and vocally impressive, and the combination of her dance hits, a brilliant crowd and the beautiful surroundings made for a genuinely memorable summer night.
Thank you to Borde Hill Summer Series for providing us with complimentary tickets in exchange for our honest review.
